Kezia Hearn: Artist’s Statement Inspired by the Chinese concept of “Li”, organic pattern in nature, my work reflects my close relationship with the botanical world, as well as my fascination with the natural forms, patterns, and processes that make up our lives. I am interested in exploring the diversity of nature designs and illuminating connections between myself, geometry, science, and spirituality. I enjoy exploring the concept of interconnectivity. I aim to express the what it means to be human in the web of life in constant renewal and flux. Through my work I aim to touch on the multidimensional aspect of life. I am interested the seen and unseen forces that are at play in our lives at any given moment. By revealing the intricate beauty of the micro and macroscopic patterns that form the backdrop of our lives, I invite the viewer to contemplate their place in the greater pattern of life. The continual circular progression of life, from cells dividing, to a star being born is a constant thread that runs through all of my work.I'ma paragAAAAAAAAaraph. and letArtist's Statement:
Much of my work is inspired by my interest in Eastern thinking and philosophy, specifically the Chinese concept of "Li", organic pattern in nature. My work reflects my close relationship with the botanical world, as well as a lifelong fascination with the natural forms, patterns, and processes that make up our lives. I am interested in exploring the diversity of nature's designs and illuminating the connections between myself, geometry, science, and spirituality.
Through my artistic practice I am continually discovering new connections and patterns within my own life and work to that of the greater whole. This concept of interconnectivity is a dominant theme in my work. In my installation work I am exploring the concept of relationships, how the relationship of each piece to the others can result in a larger pattern. Relationships are always in flux and I enjoy playing with this concept in my work through arranging and rearranging pieces to create new designs.
Through my work I aim to reveal a multidimensional aspect of life. I am interested in the seen and unseen forces that are at play in life at any given moment. By revealing The intricate beauty of microscopic patterns to the larger macrocosmic cycles that form the backdrop of our lives, I invite the viewer to contemplate their place in the greater pattern of life. The continual circular cycles of life, from cells dividing, to the birth of a star is the common thread that runs through all of my work.
